Talking about curriculum used in USHS we should know the brief explanation of curriculum used on Philippines curriculum, when in Indonesia the government already applied curriculum 2013, in Philippines are using curriculum k-12. Education in the Philippines is provided by public and private schools, colleges, universities, and technical and vocational institutions. Funding for public education comes from the national government. At the basic education level, the Department of Education (DepEd) sets overall educational standards and mandates standardized tests for the K–12 basic education system, although private schools are generally free to determine their own curriculum in accordance with existing laws and Department regulations.
On the other hand, at the higher education level, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) supervises and regulates colleges and universities, while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for technical and vocational institutions regulates and accredits technical and vocational education programs and institutions. For the academic year 2018–2019, about 83% of K–12 students attended public schools and about 17% either attended private schools or were home-schooled. One of school that has been applying the curriculum is University Science High School. The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) also offers SHS in Academic, and Technical Vocational and Livelihood tracks.

The University Science High School became the service provider to 52 Grade 11 senior high school students who take the STEM strand. The STEM strand is one of the four major academic tracks in the K-12 Basic Education curriculum, others are: Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMMS), Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), and General Academic (GA). The old curriculum only required four years in high school, but with this change, two more years were added in the Basic Education Curriculum. Now, the Philippines has adapted the high level of education that many countries already have. It is now a matter of time that the Philippines becomes a juggernaut in the scholastic scene all over the world. This is also emphasizing that students get to the right track for their future profession. Since the curriculum also would like to help the students because it helps the students to be ready for competing with the other countries which also has the same years of school obligation after graduating from Senior High School.
