Teaching
cooperates begun, I was helping my cooperate teacher to teach and handle the
classes. I was little bit nervous, but I need to be confident to deliver the
material and control the classes. The material given was about the model of
communication in grade eleven. the subject material was about the model of
communication, and it was little bit easy to handle it because I have been learning
the subject when I was on the fifth semesters. I greeted the class at first,
then conducted the prayer, I asked one of my student as a volunteer to lead the
prayer. Then I checked the attendance quickly while observing the classroom
environment. I also introduced the rules of my class briefly. After those were
conducted in the opening, I explained them some of models of communication and
I did question answers in order to construct their prior knowledge. For the
lesson plan used it was already discussed the day before we conducted the
learning activity, I designed my own material, also with Ma’am Karen. I used
teacher-oriented method as suggested by my teacher to maximize the time and
telling the information, because the material was quite hard. It has many
theories and I have to explain carefully in order to make my students got all
of the points.
After
20 minutes finished by me, the material presentation was continued by my
teacher Ma’am Karen. She re-stated the explanation that I gave quickly to make
sure nobody left behind. And she continued with the other models of
communication. She used student-oriented method, so all of the students are
given a chance to talk and state their opinion based on the material. To
measure students understanding she was giving a quiz to the students. The quiz
was about the material today in form of true false, I helped her distributed
the papers and controlled the class during the quiz. The quiz was need 10
minutes, and they submitted the paper individually. At the end of the class we
both explained the conclusion of the materials quickly and opened question
section and every student clear with the material given. I was happy to know
that and after the class I asked to my critic teacher about my performance
before to improve my teaching skill for next the independent teaching
experience.
