After
school orientation conducted, we were divided into several classroom to get our own classes. Ma’am
Panuyas told me to have my practice
teaching on grade 11 and observation only on grade 9, and I officially conducted my observation for 4 classes in 2 grades. For the
first observation I went to grade 9 to have my first ever
observation, I introduced myself first and sat at the back and observed my cooperate teacher conducted the teaching process. The material given was about school
paper journalism. I saw my teacher gave the material with many resources of
materials. Firstly before conducting the class teacher gave the sub topics (in form of a sheet of paper) that
will be given in one semester. Then teacher gave story telling based on
teacher’s experience about school journalism, then teacher turned on her laptop
to use the power point, the material on the power point was combination from
the book and internet that have been summarized by the teacher. Teacher already
made some points to minimize the time consuming for explaining unnecessary
things. Content video also inserted on the slide and it was giving during the learning process, students were
not only listened and read but also have visual about the material given,
student will get strong knowledge related with the material given. Audio speaker
also sometimes used for learning process. And since the school applying k-12
curriculum, student activeness also counted as learning resources because students
also will share and educate their classroom based on the contructivism that the knowledge got.

For
the second observation, I observed the grade 11 voyagers and
originators. I sat at the back after I
introduced myself to my students they looked excited because of new student
teacher. My students looked smart; they were so active to answer teacher’s
questions. Basically the preparation looked the same from the previous grade
but the teacher realized that they are adult learner now, so the focus of
teaching more to the students’ participation. Students were not only learning
from teacher but also from themselves and others.
Teacher
also designed the appropriate materials based on the general topic on the
curriculum provided by the government. Teacher developed the sub topic of
materials meaningfully and acceptable. So it can be said that the material
resources were not only from the textbook, but also from any sources like
experiences, internet, students, or even mass media. It does not mean book is
not important but it would be great if the teacher provides many varieties of
material. The materials given also
depend on the teacher technique of teaching. And it should be applicable and
meaningful.
