Officially CLSU student
It was Monday, As I
promised you before, I’m going to tell you everything about the general
information and my experiences during my observation on Central Luzon State
University as my receiver university.
Central
Luzon State University is located at Muñoz, Neuva Ecija, Philippines. This
university was established on April, 12 1907 at first it is started as a farm
school, the Central Luzon Agricultural School (CLAS), which the students
learned the rudiments of better farming methods, agricultural mechanics and
homemaking arts. These activities soon evolved into a model
vocational-agricultural teaching and learning program which became its legacy
to the country in so far as the CLAS experience was concerned. As a result,
CLAS became a byword for productive farming methods.

and Resources Research and Development Consortium (CLAARRDEC). CLSU also has
become the center of excellence for some major and they are: Agriculture,
Fishery, and Education Department. And the university president is Dr. Tereso
A. Abella (2015-present).
Built
on around 685-hectare make CLSU becomes one of the widest university in
Philippines. It has completed its own facilities such as library, fields and

of Business Administration and Accountancy, College of Education, College of
Engineering, College of Fisheries, College of Home Science and Industry, College

CLSU
has a vision to be a world-class National
Research University for science and technology in agriculture and allied fields and missions to develop globally competitive, work-ready,
socially-responsible and empowered human resources who value life-long
learning; and togenerate, disseminate, and apply knowledge and technologies for
poverty alleviation, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
CLAS was converted into the Central Luzon Agricultural College (CLAC) on
December 31, 1950, the first state institution in the country to offer a
four-year curriculum for training teachers of vocational agriculture and
eventually became known as “the mother of vocational agricultural schools” in
the country. CLAC became the Central Luzon State University on June 18, 1964 by
virtue of Republic Act No. 4067. As embodied in its enabling act, the
“University shall primarily give professional and technical training in
agriculture and mechanic arts besides providing advanced instruction and
promoting research in literature, philosophy, the sciences, technology and
art”. To date, CLSU remains as one of the premier institutions of agriculture
in Southeast Asia known for its breakthrough researches in aquatic culture
(pioneer in the sex reversal of tilapia), ruminant, crops, orchard, and water
management, living through its vision of becoming “a world-class National
Research University for science and technology in agriculture and allied
fields”. Additionally, it is also the first comprehensive state university to
undergo institutional accreditation and is declared Cultural Property of the

I
also was attending flag ceremony with the other lecturers and university
staffs, and I was introduced by ma’am Hiyasmine as a student teacher exchange
from Indonesia to conduct teaching practice at University Science High School.
The flag ceremony was quite different with in Indonesia, it was consumed short
time and there were lot of announcements and reports were reported. And at the
end of the ceremony we were given a chance to take pictures with the
presidents, vices, and some deans.
After conducted ceremony, we were invited to come in
Administration building where the president works, And Then the president of the
university officially welcomed us to have practice teaching on the school
university. He was so funny and able to speak Bahasa Indonesia little bit.

Then we went to other buildings in CLSU, first we went to
gallery building which the building kept some students’ products like farm,
poultry, fish, and many other products. We also had a chance to watch a video
which was about the history of CLSU and students activities; completely guided
by CLSU anthem. Then we went to Education Department to have our own student id
to identify that we were CLSU family. It took short time to make our id and
also we were introduced about the information of this department, after we
finished, we continued to go around the campus we passed the library, field,
gyms, even small jungle on the west side of the university, that was great to
know that the university have good environment and supporting the students
pleasure to study in good condition and providing fresh air.

At 12.30 p m Philippines time, we went to U-mart to have our lunch, we tried Tilapia ice cream at first. Tilapia ice cream is an extraordinary product of ice cream that was invented by one of the lecturer
there to provide health snack by using good and health ingredients. The taste
of the ice cream was delicious that was combination between cow milk and
tilapia fish, but the fish was blended perfectly. Then we tasted other foods like pork, and sweet sour chicken wings, some traditional veggies and also
dessert called halo-halo means
mix-mix from many sweet ingredients.
