Teaching Observation on Grade 9


Today was another observation. I was observing grade 9 Developers and Examinators. My critic teacher was giving a new material; the material was about paper publication. They students were exited, because the material was quite challenging for them. The class started at 7.30 but before that, I discussed with my teacher with the material that will be given.
            When we arrived in the classroom, as usual the teacher opened the material with the prayer then it was continued with checked the attendance. The teacher was so cheerful managed the opening section and students feedback was so good. Brainstorming also conducted before giving the core of material. Teacher aimed to develop students’ critical thinking the question given was related to the topic but was not really hard. Teacher just wanted to motivate and warm the situation.
                        The teacher was using communicative approach, and student-oriented method. It can be seen when the teacher was mostly asked the students to answer teacher’s questions. Then the teacher explained the core material by using attractive media with good decoration power point. It made the students paid full attention to the teacher. The classroom management also conducted to manage students’ behavior in purposing to make the class became conducive. Assignment also given to students in form of group work, they were instructed to do group presentation about the paper publication. And the presentation was made on manila paper. That was creative and I was enjoying the observation.
            In the closing section, teacher summarized the learning materials learnt. Then questions answers happened between teacher and students. And students were given homework to be prepared next meeting. The observation was good, and I learnt a lot from that situation. Maraming selamat po!
