Preparing Lessons and Material for English Subject

            Preparing lesson teaching is a must to be conducted by a teacher before they share the material in the classroom. All of the preparations designed the day before teaching should be put clearly on the lesson plan and later it will be used as teacher guidance or as reflection later after the class done. On the orientation day USHS gave me the draft of lesson plan used by the teacher and all the lesson plan already stated what should be designed or completed before teaching get started, and the lesson plan of teaching goes like this:

             Designing lesson and material were depend on the objectives learning that has applied by the teacher. The learning objective is actually the goals that will be received by the students during the class activities. My teacher told me the things that need to be prepared regarding to prepare the lesson and material.

            The first one understood the syllabus given, syllabus will and always by our guide during the teaching activity. Second one is by deciding the topic material, the material could be in from of any resources such as: book, internet, experiences, note or everything as long as the sources are relevant to be taught for the students and relate with the material. By deciding the topic teacher will understand the next step that should be done, by knowing the topic also teacher will be easier to classify the sub topic for every meeting. Then after designed the sub topic of materials teacher should be able to make the learning objectives based on the students’ needs. What scope of materials should be given, it must be clear being told. The duration for one meeting was only one hour, by having that short time, it has been challenging the teacher how they should prepare the whole lessons along with the material in just only one hour.

            Next steps, she told me that the teacher should learn the material that will be given on the next meeting. Mastering the material is really important, teacher as the role in the class should be able to manage the whole things in details about the material and lesson activities. While learning the material teacher also was creating the learning media it could be by using power point, audio/video, and many more. She told me that teachers are asked to be more creative and innovative to create something new and valuable.
