Bhuwan Ng Wikan
Hi
readers! Today we don’t have any classes, because the schools was celebrating
Bhuwan Ng Wikan day.
Bhuwan Ng Wikan day or Tagalong language day was held once a year on the end month of
August. We were invited to participate the celebration, we wake earlier in the
morning because as the co-advisor we were instructed to manage our classes to
prepare and care them during the event. This celebration was celebrated by the
school, it was started in the morning at 7.00 a m they students had to prepare
in the hall wearing their traditional uniform and dress, for man it called Barong and for woman they have many
names of their costumes, unfortunately I could not remember any of it.
(man traditional costume)
The first agenda was walking around the school and it was
look like a parade, but small parade. We were participated and accompanied the
parade based on the classes that we have handled as a co-advisor. The agenda was
continued with a speech by an expert which the speech talked about that the
researcher should frequently use Tagalog language to conduct their research in
order to make the tagalong language keep everlasting used (translated by one of
my student). After delivered the speech, the school has prepared some
competitions, started with singing competition which the participants were from
junior high school, rap competition was participated with senior high school
students. They were so creative and delivered the material about man and woman
responsibilities. The competitions took 2 hours to finish. Then they had a
break for 15 minutes before continued to other agendas.
The third agenda was about peagent and costume
competitions. The participants were from all classes consisted of 2 students
(male and female) they were wearing traditional costume and need to show it and
compete become the king and queen of USHS. But unfortunately we could not cool
hour heels any longer because we had another agenda visiting another public
school in Munoz.
The school that we have visited was University
Agriculture High School (UAHS), they school was the same as USHS, they both
under CLSU management. but the core of UAHS is agriculture while USHS is
science. The school was not really different with USHS, but the field and
system was different because the core from both of the school different. The
school system was the same to one another. But one interesting thing that I
found was the school train the students to plant vegetables earlier. So the
system was really good.
whatan amazing experience
